Learn from the Fans not the Experts

Now it hasn't been that long since I started researching everything screen writing. The obvious place to start is searching on google for that very thing "screen writing".

I've gotta say that the junk that comes up is astounding. You'd think that no one had ever considered the subject. I'm sitting here wondering if screenwriters are still using typewriters - every effort has certainly been made to recreate the typewriter feel in font and layout.

So I try "script writing". Hmm, just as abysmal as the last search. How is it that screen writers can have overlooked the internet?

Its only days later that I start dabbling in "Screen writing blogs" and finally come across a brilliant site called www.unknownscreenwriter.com. Finally something of value - and great links on to some other useful stuff.

So my favourite sites so far:

www.unknownscreenwriter.com
www.imsdb.com (I did actually come across this earlier)
www.myvisualpitch.com
www.triggerstreet.com/gyrobase/Screenplays
www.scriptbuddy.com
www.burbanked.com
www.hsx.com (Hollywood Stock Exchange - I haven't signed up yet but the concept is fascinating)

Any vital sites that I have missed?
